About this pattern

Each bear is crocheted separately — head, two ears, snout, nose — and sewn to the centre of a plain 6-inch granny square, so you can make the bears in batches while you watch TV and assemble later.

The pattern covers the square, the two-round square border with its colour change, the slip-stitch join (5 wide × 6 tall), the outer blanket border and an optional scalloped edge. Gauge is 12 dc = 4 in, with notes on adjusting your hook to match. Every abbreviation is spelled out.
