Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 September 2026
These terms govern your use of designpatternly.com and Design Patternly pattern library. The service is operated by Wilburn Group LLC, doing business as Design Patternly, 731 SE Alices Rd # 5871, Waukee, IA 50263, USA ("we", "us", "Design Patternly"). By purchasing you agree to what follows.
1. What we sell
Design Patternly is a digital pattern library. Customers get permanent access to our online library of crochet and quilting patterns, supplied as downloadable PDF files, together with the supporting guides and video material published in the library. New designs are added on an ongoing basis. No physical goods are manufactured, sold, or shipped under this agreement.
2. Payment
Access is sold as a single one-time payment of $3.50 USD. This is not a subscription. Your payment method is charged once, at checkout, and is not charged again. There is no renewal, no recurring charge, no trial that converts into a paid plan, and no stored billing arrangement that can be triggered later.
All amounts are in US dollars and are inclusive of any sales tax where we are required to charge it. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a conversion fee we neither receive nor control.
Prices may change for new customers at any time. A change never affects a purchase already completed, because nothing further is ever charged against it.
3. No subscription to cancel
Because this is a one-time payment, there is nothing to cancel and no action is needed from you to stop future charges — there are none. Your access does not expire.
If you see any charge from us beyond the single payment described above, contact support@designpatternly.com or call +1 (414) 401-7032 and we will refund it in full. You may also ask us to close your account and delete your data at any time; see our privacy policy.
4. Delivery of digital content
Access is granted electronically and immediately on payment. Nothing is posted or shipped. Full details of what you receive and when are in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms. You consent to the digital content being made available to you immediately, and you acknowledge that by downloading files you may lose any statutory right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to digital content in your jurisdiction.
5. Licence and permitted use
On completing your purchase we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- download, store, and print the pattern files for your own use;
- make finished items from those patterns; and
- sell the finished items you make, in person or online, without paying us anything further.
You may not:
- resell, share, forward, upload, or otherwise distribute the pattern files themselves;
- republish our written instructions, photographs, diagrams, or charts, in whole or in part;
- use our patterns or materials to train, fine-tune, or build a machine-learning model; or
- mass-produce finished items industrially, as opposed to making them by hand.
6. Intellectual property
All patterns, photographs, text, video, layouts, and other material in the library remain the property of Wilburn Group LLC or of our licensors, and are protected by copyright. The licence in section 5 is permission to use that material within stated limits; it transfers no ownership. Our name, logo, and branding may not be used without written permission. If you believe material on the site infringes your copyright, write to support@designpatternly.com with enough detail to identify the work and we will investigate promptly.
7. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase. Keep your login details to yourself; the account is for your personal use and may not be shared, sold, or used by more than one household. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it. Files you download remain yours to keep and use under the licence above — we do not remotely disable or expire downloaded PDFs.
8. Availability and changes to the library
We aim to keep the library available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, upgrades, and faults happen. Individual patterns may occasionally be revised, corrected, or withdrawn — for example where an error is found or where a licence with a designer ends. The overall size and character of the library will not be materially reduced after your purchase.
9. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break into, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to distribute our files, or that is used fraudulently. Where we close an account for a breach, no refund is due.
10. Disclaimers
The service and the patterns are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. We do not warrant that a pattern will suit a particular purpose, or that following one will produce a specific result — crafting outcomes depend on your materials, tension, and technique. Yarn weights, gauge, and finished dimensions are given as guidance, not guarantees.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you arising out of or connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks
Refunds are dealt with in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before contacting your bank. We can usually resolve a billing problem within one business day, and there are situations — an unexpected charge, a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount — that we refund without argument. A chargeback takes weeks and gives us no way to simply put the matter right for you.
Filing a chargeback instead of contacting us for a refund may result in the account being closed. Nothing here affects your legal right to dispute a charge with your card issuer, and we will not penalise you for exercising a right you are entitled to.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that point means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top always shows the current version.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, USA, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any consumer rights you have under the law of the place you live.
